So tonight I’m spending the night in the Mill Hotel in the centre of Chester.
The hotel isn’t bad, especially compared to some of the places I stayed at when I was at SSE – the wing I am in is pretty new, and even has a network connection in the room (hence how I’m able to blog). The hotel seems to be pretty well non-smoking, although there is a quite amusing sign on the door of the bathroom – apparently steamy showers will set of the fire alarms. 😀
The food so far has been good too, have to wait and see what breakfast is like.
In fact the only annoyance is the TV. Like most hotels it has a universal remote to control the TV, and as in a number of places before, the universal remote has been deprogrammed. Also as in most UK hotels I’ve been in, the channel arrangement is pretty odd. BBC1 is up at channel 17, BBC 2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are in slots 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively. The rest of the channels is the usual odd mix of channels that you often get in hotels, with News 24, Sky Three, Sky Sports, and a couple of other channels coming of a shared Sky box. Anyway, I just need to remember how to set the alarm on my phone now, and finish off at the customer tomorrow before heading home.
