My copy of iLife 06 arrived in the post today. I haven’t installed it as yet, but I did notice a strange occurrence – the rather dramatic shrinking in the size of the packaging.

Now it’s true that over previous generations there has been a gentle slimming down of the packaging, but this time it’s pretty dramatic, down to the size of a small stack of CD’s!

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of these people who will bemoan the significantly reduced amounts of ‘Apple Air’ that are now contained in the packaging. Looking along the shelf of oversized software boxes that only contain a thin booklet and one or two CD’s, the new packaging is great, and will take up much less physical space on the shelf. It’s just a bit of a shock – especially when the cardboard box the Apple Shop pack the thing up in is just the same size as before.

Anyway, enough of the grumbling – time to install the update. 😀
