Hat tip to Dave Walker for this great little clip of Pastor Steve Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church, preaching on a text from the King James Bible that I’m sure would never come up in the Book of Common Prayer Lectionary, and perhaps wouldn’t be the first choice for most preachers if it did. It also goes to show quite how much the acceptable language and phrases have changed since the King James Bible back in 1604.
Pastor Anderson holds no college degree but has well over 100 chapters of the Bible committed to memory.

P.S. In case you’re wondering if he’s right, thanks to the search on eBible, the six places the phrase is used are 1 Samuel 25:22, 1 Samuel 25:34, 1 Kings 14:10, 1 Kings 16:11, 1 Kings 21:21 and 2 Kings 9:8.
