As Ted Bovis used to say on Hi-de-Hi, the first rule of comedy is (amongst other things) that you must have reality. So as I sat down with Becky’s two daughters on Wednesday afternoon to watch Barnyard they weren’t bothered at all by the anthropomorphic cows, but every adult who walked into the room spotted it… Having said that, it’s not a bad film, and quite entertaining in places. Certainly not a bad way to spend the afternoon and the kids seem to enjoy it.
