Some people seem to be getting a bit hot under the collar about this Marmite advert featuring Paddington Bear… I actually thought it was quite amusing, and certainly has the look of the original series I remember as a child.

New Staff Employed at Buckingham Palace?
The news this morning had some pictures from Buckingham Palace, which when you’re not paying total attention seemed quite odd. Are the British Army so desperate for recruits that they are employing Paddington Bear and Noddy as guards? Or have Fathers for Justice now got really good costumes?
No – in fact it was the announcement of a special party as part of the celebrations for the Queen’s 80th birthday, where 2000 children selected by ballot will be invited to the palace, with entertainment based around favourite childrens books, hence the presence of Paddington Bear and Noddy, alongside Postman Pat and Bob the Builder.
