On the first working day after Christmas (29th December) I ordered a copy of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Extended Edition), and based on the Super Saver delivery time of 3 to 5 days, worked out I’d be back at work by the time it was delivered, so sent it to my work address. However, I guess because of the day, Amazon put it straight in the post, usually meaning it would arrive the next day (30th December).
Anyway, when I got back to work after the holiday the parcel wasn’t around, and having asked the people who were at work between Christmas and New Year, nobody remembered the parcel being delivered. It also wasn’t in the pile of post on my desk, so as required I waited until three days after the due date on Amazon and duly reported it missing last night. This morning they created a new order for it, and it dispatched at lunchtime.
So guess what was in my desk drawer when I opened it this afternoon – a parcel from Amazon containing The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Extended Edition). Still nobody remembers it being delivered, and nobody knows how it got in my drawer. All a bit of a mystery.
