Although a multitude of people, including myself have commented on the results of the Primates meeting, perhaps one of the most important reactions that has been awaited is from the Bishop of New Hampshire, Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson. Although the Primates Communiqué didn’t call for his removal, it did make a lot of demands on the Episcopal Church, leading to accusations against the Presiding Bishop that she betrayed parts of the Church in signing the communiqué. Bishop Robinson has issued two statements, the first is a reflection on the Primates meeting, and the Presiding Bishop’s response, and the second addresses directly the deep sense of betrayal felt by the LGBT members of the Church after the meeting. Both statements are well worth reading.
